ana·plas·mo·sis (an″ə-plaz-moґsis) 1. infection with organisms of the genus Anaplasma. 2. a disease of cattle and related ruminants marked by fever, anemia, and icterus; caused by Anaplasma marginale or A. ovis, which is transmitted by ticks and other blood-sucking arthropods. Called also gallsickness or gall sickness.
