Para·coc·cid·i·oi·des (par″ə-kok-sid″e-oiґdēz) a genus of Fungi Imperfecti of the form-family Moniliaceae. P. brasilienґsis (called also Blastomyces brasiliensis) is the species that causes paracoccidioidomycosis; organisms proliferate by multiple budding yeast cells in the tissues, and produce white aerial mycelia and single or double conidia in media at 25°C or in soil.
