Minuscule
A cursive script, as opposed to the more formal *uncial. Frankish writers in the 8c and 9c developed a script known today as Carolingian (Caroline) minuscule. It was imported into England in the mid-10c, where it became the norm for Latin texts, whereas the native insular minuscule continued to be used for *vernacular texts, e.g. *ASC. -
