Haga
1 [hegge]. A piece of land enclosed within a hedge (*DB); the purpose was to keep forest and other animals out. -

2) As well as an enclosure, haga was used when referring to a hall or meeting place, being enclosed. Haga was also a plot of land within a *borough. -
