Assyrian official in the eighth century B.C. He was palace herald under King Adad-nirari III and held several other important offices, such as that of an eponym (limmu) and governor of Guzana. In a stele discovered north of Hatra, his name appears before that of the king, which demonstrates that his power in the area was greater than the king’s. He also mentions in the text that he had founded a new settlement, called Dur-Bel-harran-beli-usur (literally Fort Dur-Bel-harran-usur).
