Example Citation:
One last note about [travel] guides: Be wary of any that are published as advertorials. For example, many guides published by credit card companies include only client restaurants.
— Scott Joseph, "Food, glorious food," The Orlando Sentinel, April 28, 2002
Notes:
While doing some follow-up research for this term, I discovered that it's not new at all. It has, in fact, been a part of the language since at least 1961 when it made an inexplicable appearance in Webster's Third New International Dictionary. I'm going to leave it in the database anyway, just for the heck of it.
