As applied to theatrical entertainments, review and revue are synonymous, both coming from a French word meaning "to see again": "The most popular play of the season is a review (or revue) in which a dozen recent events, popular fads, and silly ideas are parodied and satirized." Professional theatrical personnel tend to use revue; others may take their choice.
