Welcoming or summoning the kami. The first element in the structure of a typical festival. Specifically it means the summoning of a kami to a himorogi, that is, to a place which is not the usual 'seat' of the kami. In some cases the call (keihitsu) accompanies the recitation of norito and is a sonorous long 'o' sound. Cf. kami-okuri.
