James Dean [James Dean]
(1931–55) a US actor who has come to represent the popular image of a young person resisting authority. He appeared in only three films, East of Eden (1955), Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Giant (1956), before being killed in a car accident when Giant was almost finished. Posters of him are still popular, especially with young people.
