(1918–1991)
Born in Canada, June Storey was one of Gene Autry’s female leads from 1938 to 1939. While she played a variety of roles, Storey’s most characteristic role was that of the spoiled rich girl. In both Rancho Grande(1940) and Ride, Tenderfoot Ride (1940), the eastern girl comes West to claim an inheritance and makes foolish mistakes based on her pride and haughty nature. Autry must educate her in the ways of the West as well as develop in her a measure of humility. She held a term player contract, which she chose not to renew.
