Enlarged, flattened modification of outer branch (exopod) of either mandible, maxillule, maxilla, or first thoracic limb. Bears long setae along margin and maintains water circulation within carapace. (Syn. vibratory plate, respiratory plate) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
