Also Democracy and Aliya and Yes; Russian initials for Demokratia v'Aliyah (democracy and immigration see Aliya) and the Russian word for yes. A political party formed in February 1992 by Yuli Kosharovski to represent the interests of Jewish immigrants from the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It focused its platform on deregulation of the economy, passage of a civil rights law, separation of religion and politics, and more assistance for Soviet immigrants. It participated in the 1992 election (see Knesset elections) but failed to win seats in the Knesset.
