1) (fl. ?19th-16th cent BCE)
Israelite, steward of Abraham's household (Genesis 15:2). He was to have been Abraham's heir in the absence of any offspring. But when Abraham complained to God that material goods were of little use to him since he had no chidren to whom to bequeath them, God responded with the promise of a son (Genesis 15:4ff). Eliezer was identified by the rabbis with the servant sent by Abraham to find a wife for Isaac.
2) (fl. 13th cent BCE)
Israelite, second son of Moses (Exodus 18:4).
3) (fl. 9th cent BCE)
Israelite, prophet of Mareshah. He denounced Jehoshaphat's alliance with Ahaziah (II Chronicles 20:37).
