He·li·co·bac·ter·a·ceae (hel″ĭ-ko-bak″tər-aґse-e) a morphologically, metabolically, and ecologically diverse family of bacteria of the order Campylobacterales, grouped together on the basis of 16S rRNA sequence analysis; pathogenic organisms are included in the genus Helicobacter.
